Our Curriculum

CCMA’s core curriculum offers a broad introduction to musical structure, performance protocols and styles from the Renaissance to modern music.

Areas of Study

Ear Training.

Our approach uses special methods to help students identify fundamental musical elements (like intervals, chords, chord progressions, etc.) and so be able to sing, play and anticipate music more naturally.

Music Theory & Analysis.

Our teachers help students understand the elements that form harmony, melody, and rhythm along with compositional elements such as song form, tempo, notes, chords, key signatures, intervals, scales, and more.

Music History.

From the Renaissance to the Romantic period and beyond, music history broadens our understanding and gives insight to how the world has evolved. Throughout our instruction we continuously expose our students to the wonders of the past, which in turn creates skilled and artful musicians who are equipped for the future.

Performance & Musicianship Studies.

In the ever changing landscape of the music industry our curriculum helps students develop a unique performance approach and to hone their own musical qualities such as pitch, tone, timbre, texture, dynamics, and others.

My teenage son is extremely shy. School was a struggle and homework left no time for activities therefore we tried lessons during the summer and at the first lesson I felt like I had won the lottery. Within a year I witnessed a transformation in Zach --not only in piano but also in his confidence and even more amazingly in academics --especially math --which became much less of a struggle than ever before. Thank you!

My daughter has excelled and grown in her musical abilities! Her taste in music, her style of learning - each lesson has been unique to her. My 14 year old is thrilled with her progress!
